Different, useful, clever, nostalgic. . . .
Here to be shared.
Dip in. . .
(And please come back - we regularly update the page)

www.postsecret.blogspot.com Like an online diary room, with an artistic edge, a fascinating site, documenting annonymous secrets from all over the world
www.springwise.com/newsletter A fascinating, free newsletter that covers worldwide trends and developments
www.trendwatching.com/trends/

Linked to 'Springwise' and worth exploring in it's own right. Look for Virtual Anthropology in list on right (ever wondered what people in China have in their fridges. . .)
www.martinparr.com

I love the candid observation of British life that Martin Parr captures in his photos
www.advertisingarchives.co.uk

A brilliant source of examples of advertising from years gone by
www.visit4info.co.uk

Where you can search and download UK ads
www.gatheredimages.com

The source of some great postcards
www.sirc.org/news/watching_the_english.shtml

A great read - clever, funny and worth looking into
www.notonthehighstreet.com

In their words, "making the hard to find, ridiculously easy". I would just add, the gorgeously hard to find. . .
www.enokiworld.com

Great vintage stuff to oggle at (or buy)
www.ehow.com A mind blowing resource that does what it says on the tin - literally, instructions on how to do (just about) anything

www.oconnorscampers.co.uk Forget the Winnebagos - relive hippy years in a restored VW camper. Wonderful. . .
www.aquarterof.co.uk And when you're in the VW camper, you can continue the trip down memory lane by chomping away on some old fashioned sweet favourites (Black Jacks, Fruit Salad. . .). (Just discovered that you can even design and have your own sweet made)
www.changethis.com A form of media that uses existing tools (like PDFs, blogs and the web) to challenge the way ideas are created and spread. Different, interesting. . .
www.vincon.com Came across the store in Barcelona and this is their online facility. Really fantastic - like a cross between the Design Museum store, Heals. . .and much more. Well worth exploring.
www.fewandfar.net A wonderful new store on Brompton Road, full of an eclectic mix of furniture, gifts, clothes, toys etc. I wandered in with my mother on their third day of trading and we were greeted with the offer of coffee (deliciously strong, in white china cups, served on a tray) - that is a very different and engaging style of service. I only managed to spend £1 (on a Morrocan ring) but the staff still managed to make us feel as if we had made their day. Maybe I'm gullible but I will be running back.
