There are many times when I come across great concepts - be they ads, websites, stores, movies or just something different and exciting. . .

Toy Story OK, hardly new, but I saw this again at the weekend and remembered just how brilliant it is (the sequel wasn't nearly as good).
Selfridges 100th Birthday

A limited range of pieces specially commissioned for the celebration and all with at least a hint of the iconic yellow (Pantone 109, for the record) - how wonderful is that! I want the whole set. . .
Virgin I love the new campaign, 'where do you want to be?' They have managed to make speed emotionally relevant by encapsulating real truths in a warm, upbeat and engaging way. Great soundtracks too.
T-Mobile

The original ad in the latest viral campaign ('Life's for sharing') was brilliant - arousing the wonderful feel good response and really making you to spread the word. Just not sure about the follow up Karaoke - feels a bit cliched already (and where do you go from there?)
rockettstgeorge A great site offering an eclectic mix of things for the home, gifts etc. Worth exploring!
postsecret Like an online diary room, with an artistic edge, a fascinating site, documenting annonymous secrets from all over the world
springwise A fascinating, free newsletter that covers worldwide trends and developments
trendwatching

Linked to 'Springwise' and worth exploring in it's own right. Look for Virtual Anthropology in list on right (ever wondered what people in China have in their fridges. . .)
martinparr

I love the candid observation of British life that Martin Parr captures in his photos
advertisingarchives

A brilliant source of examples of advertising from years gone by
visit4info
Where you can search and download UK ads
gatheredimages

The source of some great postcards
watchingtheenglish

A great read - clever, funny and worth looking into
notonthehighstreet

In their words, "making the hard to find, ridiculously easy". I would just add, the gorgeously hard to find. . .
enokiworld

Great vintage stuff to oggle at (or buy)
ehow A mind blowing resource that does what it says on the tin - literally, instructions on how to do (just about) anything

oconnorscampers Forget the Winnebagos - relive hippy years in a restored VW camper. Wonderful. . .
aquarterof And when you're in the VW camper, you can continue the trip down memory lane by chomping away on some old fashioned sweet favourites (Black Jacks, Fruit Salad. . .). (Just discovered that you can even design and have your own sweet made)
changethis A form of media that uses existing tools (like PDFs, blogs and the web) to challenge the way ideas are created and spread. Different, interesting. . .
vincon Came across the store in Barcelona and this is their online facility. Really fantastic - like a cross between the Design Museum store, Heals. . .and much more. Well worth exploring.
fewandfar A wonderful store on Brompton Road, full of an eclectic mix of furniture, gifts, clothes, toys etc. I wandered in with my mother on their third day of trading and we were greeted with the offer of coffee (deliciously strong, in white china cups, served on a tray) - that is a very different and engaging style of service. I only managed to spend £1 (on a Morrocan ring) but the staff still managed to make us feel as if we had made their day. Maybe I'm gullible but I will be running back.
